About

Temperanza is a collection of ceramics, textiles, and original paintings with a touch of animism. Objects made to last, always handcrafted in Italy in collaborations with master artisans.

Temperanza employs ceramics and textiles as mediums that have always been undervalued to categories like “arts and crafts” rather than fine arts due to the fact that were associated with women’s work.

Temperanza focuses on taking ownership back on these experimental works, following intuitions, embracing our inner darkness while telling these tales.

Temperanza promotes emotional relationships with our objects and surroundings, multidisciplinary collaborations with local craftsmanship and artist. A slow production cycle that ethically involves all the parts, from the source of raw materials to the end product.

Temperanza wants to promote a conscious way of producing, yet, consuming and owning objects: understanding their meaning and impact in our lives, both environmentally and emotionally.

Objects that bridge our intimate realities by sharing rituals with others.

Temperanza objects depict women. They are the witches, the sorceresses, the sibyls, the spirits.
They are the magic that fights to remain attached to the world.
They are the world that fights to not lose magic.

Are shown as treasures of experiences and knowledge, they are sisters, and they resist passing and weaving secrets and stories.

Temperanza is a project created by award-winning designer Ilaria Bianchi (@ila.bianchi).
